If it were a laser I'm sure they would be required to state so in their ad.

I'm pretty sure that it's basically just a fancy flashlight.

Lots of LEDs posing as lasers lately. There' s a keychain space gun with a red LED and laser sound-effects (even though lasers don't make sounds!). On the latest episode of the Simpsons, players of laser tag try to use the guns to blast their way through a locked door, only to be disappointed that it's just "colored lights".

I don't think its even remotely possible to make an explosive laser... I don't like how lasers are represented nowadays...
