As title suggests, has anyone got any experience with the generic unbranded "Sanwu-esque" stainless pocket pointers out of China?
They look much the same, but are fixed focus. Very similar looking build, and take the same cell (10440).

Around £40 for the "488T-50" cyan, or £30ish for the 505 & 450nm
Curious to know if they're any good? Otherwise I'm happy to take a chance on one if nobody else has, and post my findings!

I've bought one of the 488s, build quality is fine, it doesn't feel heavy like the sanwu ones do, but I don't have any complaints with it. Mine measured about 484nm so it's a bit on the blue side as opposed to the green side of the 488 lottery, though your results may vary

Bro, both "shadowlasers" and "laserpointerstore" sell "Sanwu-esque" lasers for excellent prices as well as genuine Sanwu lasers. I've purchased several from both companies and have been pleased with their bang for the buck.

OK, so I've had a total of 3 of these unbranded lasers delivered now - 405nm, 488nm and 505nm. They look reasonably well finished, and the beams are good.
However, only 1 of 3 is what I would call satisfactory wavelength:
The 488nm is pretty good, at 492nm, that's fine by me.
However, the 405nm is miles out, coming in at 458nm.! Definitely blue.
The green is not as far out, but still not great, measuring 522nm.
I have contacted the seller and suggested that the 405 probably has a 450 diode in it, and the 505 is probably a 520. See what they say, though not sure whether they'll do much.!
