I know the actual laser is the main topic on here but I gotta ask, is there a pair of goggles that with protect the eyes from any laser out there? If so is there a reasonably priced one? Thanks again
 





To protect you from all lasers, you would need to not be able to see any wavelength of light, or at least reduce it a thousandfold.

So if you want something that can do this... just get black glasses. Not see through, just pure black, solid, opaque glasses. Then you should be fine :P

Now seriously. You want protection from violet. You filter it out. You want protection from blue, so you filter it out too. You also filter out green, yellow, red, infrared and ultraviolet. What remains? Nothing. You can get the ML7 goggles from OEM laser systems, but these are very dark and are not very good against red (OD only 1.5+). The DIW model from the same manufacturer is better for red and a bit brighter, but has no protection against green. ZoneStealth also sells some breadband goggles, but there were some mixed reviews about them.
 
Yeah, for the ultimate safety, just get a set of goggles for each wavelength and keep them with you. Look at what you're using, pull out its respective goggles. Sounds easy enough, I think.

LOL, Might aswell turn the laser off?? haha

Although, that could cause a safety concern for the people around you... :D

not sure if you are joking... but this is not true. black sunglasses actually make it more dangerous to take a laser hit to the eyes because your pupils are larger trying to gather more light

I think that you missed the word, opaque in the description :D

He didn't say "dark" glasses. :tinfoil:

He said "black, opaque" glasses (as in NO light transmission) :na:

What I don't understand is how people get wavelength coverage for setting up scanners that can have around three colors RGB.

You cannot cover ALL of the light. One has to compromise and make some decisions.

I think about which color I'm working with and which colors will be most likely to get reflected around.

Also, while doing the near-field adjustment (making the beams all shine into the optics at the right place and angle) the lasers' outputs are turned WAY down.

During far-field adjustments (making the beams all intersect and overlap at the right place) one is either looking far away on a wall/screen or often times another person is actually watching the output and calling adjustments

Finally, being VERY mindful of where your hands are placed inside the projector can go a long way in preventing any reflection of light.
