It's amazing how much different wavelengths look when they're side by side. ML argon and 473 make 445 look violet, and 473 makes ML argon look green, and ML argon makes 473 look like 445 - it's crazy!

And because I couldn't resist going overboard, I threw in all my other wavelengths too (And a combined yellow cos I can ;)

Lasers are 445, 473 then ML argon.

ML argon, 473 and 445.

I thought ML argons would be much brighter than a slightly overspec 10mW 473, is that the camera or...?

That's just way too stunning. :)

We were all overpowered by awesomeness. :D

Cheers!

The 473 is actually doing about 30mW+, and the ML argon about the same. It's a very high hour tube (6K+), and it took about 10 minutes to get it to start for that pic!

Great pictures!!! Where is the 405?

No 405 unfortunately. Haven't really had any 405nm since the KES400A days a few years back, need to get some diodes again one day.

Awsome pic love the colours.
Whats that on the ironing board?, and what's the wavelength of the green emmiter on top?:D

Hehe, donation to the cause, sure if you want :D

That would be my DIY fog machine timer, with a 500-570nm green LED indicator :D

Blue is definitely my favorite lassr color. Are 473s hard to get/expensive?

Pointers and handhelds will start at between $3-400. If you don't mind a lab style you can get them on ebay for under $100 USD. There have been several threads in the blue lasers forums about them. The beam on mine has pretty bad divergence but for the $90 shipped I paid I couldn't be more happy with it.

Aye, what he said ^ They're not hard to get, they're openly available, (unlike SOME wavelengths I want -.-) however they are moderately expensive.

They're certainly going down in price, you can probably get a full unit for around $300-400 these days, expect anywhere between 20mW and 90mW in that range. If you want lab units those ones on feebay are decent low powered ones, if you want higher powered ones lasever has some sweet labbies at reasonable prices ($/mW).

Nah, it's because my alignment is slightly out, and the red beam is a little larger than the green.
