405nm laser help

has anyone used this laser and if so what do u think of it?

also do u think it would be better just to go the diy way and buy a kit for a high powered violet?

Pens dont provide much heat sinking. A DIY is always better, and cheaper. Just pull apart some old CD roms to practice unsoldering/soldering the diodes.

ok well im new to the diy scene so what do u recommend. a 12x blu-ray diode and a flexdrive? where should i get the heat sink?

well im looking into buying three lasers right now a blue green and red so either those three or go all out on a diy. so some where around 250-300 for a diy

For $40-$60 120mW
For $60-$90 130-190mW
For around $170-$200 200-300mW
For around $250-$300 300-400mW
Add $60 for a lens and add 28% to the mW totals.

No I use those and many more quite often....unfortunately.

Do some reading on the 8X diode. There is tons of info, and it should fit your price range and power requirements.
