Finished final testing the new 4.35 VDC Charger tonight.

It is designed for ONLY the new generation of Samsung, Sanyo and LG 3000mah cells,
using higher voltage technology.

It charges @ 900 ma for only one cell (50% more than my standard charger).

It is checked for proper charging voltage before shipping.

Pricing is $18.95 for single quantities prepaid in 48 U.S. states.

P.S. DO NOT use this charger with 4.2 VDC lithium ion cells.
(I have another charger for those)

Is your charger using the MCP73831?

EDIT: I realize that it wouldn't be, on account of it being able to handle 900mA.

That's a great price for a custom charger. The ICs I've run across for 4.35V chargers all seem to max out at 500mA. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of this too :)

RHD;

I wanted more charging current for the higher voltage Samsung cells.

I tested three different chargers with higher charging currents.

Photos of the 900ma circuit single-cell charger design I chose:

It uses a 431 electronic voltage reference set to 4.35 VDC,

and discrete transistors for the additional current capability.

Negative contact is spring-loaded lever.

Thanks;

Hi Larry, I found this thread, this is the charger I think. But you claim that can charge a single batterie but the case is for two? This is correct? Can charge two batteries at the same time and divide the current?

How can you tell which cells are compatible with this charger? Is there some unique marking that can be identified on the cells?

Hi, you know it for the brand and model of the battery, not trustfire or models like this, named brands like, samsung, lg, sanyo etc. but this charger in special is for the samsung that had a high charge voltage of 4,35v

The new Sanyo, LG, and Samsung 3000mah cells can be charged to 4.35VDC.

Sanyo uses color coding, while LG and Samsung are marked.

Panasonic is still at 4.2 VDC with their 3100mah & 3400mah cells. (edited)

The 4.35 VDC Charger only charges a single cell @ 900ma.
