16gb flash drive - corsair

Damn nice ! Man have I been out of the tech corner recently ! 16gb ? WOW ~!

I've got to agree 16GB that's all you'd ever need in a flash drive :o the price is very good too 8-)

the best way is the blue LED , i love watching it flicker blue in the middle of the night while backups are running as i fall asleep.i wish i knew the wavelength of this blue LED because it is the perfect blue!

Hope this chart can help c0ld :)

wow, that is a nice chart!!! Where'd you get it?

Also, 16GB flash drive is cool, but so far I'm okay with my humble 1G stick :) Looking forward though when these will get cheaper (still remember when three years ago my 256M SD-card cost that much).

What sucks though is that Newegg doesn't ship international, maybe we could set up a "hub" somewhere here in the forum.

Even corsair doesn't recommend using those for backups, they can go out at any time.

Yep- thats true

But, as an alternative- I have software that will cache that drive and force your system to recognize it as RAM and use it as such, I run a 5gig Sandisc with this along with my 1gig dedicated and my machine just friggin rips.

Imagine 16gig of RAM :-?

USB is sloooooooow compared to the sort of speeds RAM should have.....
I absolutely refuse to get any USB bigger than an 8GB (big enough to hold a few decent games for school) on the grounds that its too slow for large amounts of data. I use a FireWire portable hard drive. It's worth the investment to be able to backup in 10 minutes, not 10 hours.

THANK U TIMELORD

OMG YESSSSSSSS
yeaaahhhhhh

:D:D

so happy.

i've been looking for a chart like this for 3 weeks now!!!
thank u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

an italian magazine tested this usb flash driver, they putted it in a bottle and then in the freezer(-5°C) and the putted it in boiling water(100°C) and it was still working!!

Also putted under the wheel of a car and still works!!

;D

the 16gb flash drive is still working great for me. it is half the price it used to be now, only 59 dollars after a 20 dollar rebate at newegg

And to think that in 2004 I bought a 1gb flash drive (which I thought was HUGE) for $70 and THAT was a good deal ;D

It's amazing how fast we're progressing with electronics and computers... just amazing how fast the internet has gone from a hobby of a few to a whole branch of society and a part of almost everybody's daily lives and soon (if not already ;D) an integral portion of many peoples' existence.

As for the 16gb drives, I've seen some low cost brands going for about $40 right now and better brands for ~$50. I'm still waiting on a 32gb one for that price point :)
