    Simple driver with a LM358 chip on it...

    Looks to me like a simple buck driver, usng the LM358 opamp to drive a transistor to deliver a constant current to the diode (Battery voltage should in theory be higher than the diode voltage) unless i'm mistaken, hard to know without battery specs, diode specs, and driver schematic/parts names

    The cheap acrylic lenses I've been using can be prone to that. I recommend buying a 2E lens which are metal and much better quality. I plan to upgrade all my lasers with 2E lenses in the future, but that will come at a slight cost increase
