Has anybody successfully dismantled one of the more typical pen lasers, where the module seems to be glued into the barrel? I've got a DX20 I want to disassemble, but I hate to have to slice up the barrel with a cutting wheel, for fear of damaging something.

Just be aware that when the phone rings, the voltage is around 100V pulsed at 20Hz. Could fry some of your components if you design for 5-10V only.

I'd love to take my DX20 apart so I could fix the intermittent contacts, but I haven't gotten it to budge at all while putting nasty gouges in the chrome caps with pliers. The glue seems so tight that the case would be a total loss to get it out. Has anybody successfully taken a DX pen laser...
