Okay, this all sounds good, and, obviously makes good sense :) I'm just wondering if I should still go with the Survival Laser's pair of safety googles even though you've confirmed that (despite the CE label) they're not certified; Can I be confident that they will noentheless work in protecting me?

Do you nonetheless need to stay a particular distance away from the beam, even in mid-air? In other words, is there any dangers from inherently emitted particles emanating from the beam?

Obviously, the dangers here are unequivocally unforgiving...... On relatively matte materials, what is considered a safe distance to be protected from potential reflection injury? And, how problematic is it to look at the beam in mid air without protective eyewear? Or, do you absolutely also...

GAtkins, I'm at a loss as to what you are referring to here - Is it indeed taboo to look at the dot of a 1.5 watt laser indoors without glasses???

Damn! I thought that these were the real deal...... That does suck! Unless I'm mistaken, the OEM's are at least double the price - But well worth it as far as my vision is concerned :)

Okay, these are OD 4+ which should be fine then; Is it preferable to have more Visible Light Transmission, or, less? If it is indeed more, what is the maximum possible? Lastly, does the VLT have any impact on other safety aspects?

Can anyone kindly qualify what the average pair of protective glasses is rated at in terms of capability to absorb a beam hit; In other words, will all glasses still prtect you at 1 watt, 2 watts, etc? Or, is this obviously relative due to the amount of "strike" time upon the lens itself rather...

I concur with the aforementioned statement that once 1.5 watts is exceeded, the danger level is palpable. However, even at that wattage, your eyes will be protected if proper eyewear is equipped (or am I mistaken?)

Is it always better to have specific sets of prtective eyewear for each wavelength or is a multi wavelength pair just as efficient in protection?
