    3.5W Black Anodized C6 with Barrel Extension, 2X 18650

I can see the EXIF just fine when signed out.

    3.5W Black Anodized C6 with Barrel Extension, 2X 18650

I'd take it apart and show you guys, but I need a second person. The two small holes in the top of the heatsink are for a tool which holds it stationary while I unscrew the cap, so that wires don't get twisted. This requires 3 hands. I left the smallest area possible at the base of the heatsink...

    3.5W Black Anodized C6 with Barrel Extension, 2X 18650

There have been many of the "survival lasers stainless c6 + DTR 9mm diode" builds so far, but I've heard a common complaint: THEY GET TOO HOT! I don't like large hosts personally, and wanted to see if anything could be done about the heat. For the build I used a black anodized C6 host from...

Cree Jade Flashlight 1.5W Host - Pics

I just sold this laser, but realized that I never finished showing off the build! Its a Cree Jade Appreciation Flashlight, and I thought with that tapered nose, it just looked cooler than hell! So without further adieu, Its no slouch either! Here it is making its way through 10 cd cases...

Red laser - first build help?

You have alot more research to do. I can't quite tell from your description, but it sounds like you may have either LED'd (fried) your diode, or are misunderstanding the way that these lasers function. Laser diodes themselves don't emit a perfect beam of light, far from it. They emit a...

New guy, 10440 300mw red project!

So I promised pictures about a decade ago, but here they are! Sorry for the blurr, but I've enjoyed this project! Lots of internal reflection within the cap of the pen, which makes it extremely bright to look at it from the front. The battery lasts around 5 minutes, which is longer than...

Please Help! 1.5 watt host build not going well.

I fixed the wiring on the flexdrive, then it still didn't work. I figured it had to be the battery. I charged the "Ultrafire" 18650 fully, and still nothing. I removed the protection circuit from the battery, and still nothing. :banghead: Then I went for broke, and tried 2...

Please Help! 1.5 watt host build not going well.

DOOHH. I wired the damn driver backwards!!! I can't belive I was that dumb... Any chance the components survived that kindof a mixup? :banghead:

Please Help! 1.5 watt host build not going well.

So I've been working on this project for quite awhile, and it hasn't been working. I've double and tripple checked my connections, and don't quite know what to do. I've removed the pink plastic spacer, and bent the case pin so that I could solder it to the negative pin (case...

    1.5W Cree Jade host build

Patrick, I have a big chunk of copper to turn down for it! Should work well. With any host, aluminum or stainless, you want a heat sink that will conduct as much heat away from the diode, as quickly as possible. Its not necessary to "match" the metal of the heatsink with the metal of the host...

    1.5W Cree Jade host build

Hey guys, just got this: Its a "jade appreciation" expert's flashlight. I just thought it looked like a REALLY cool host for a lazer  and bought it for $8.99 plus shipping on ebay. Its a really solid flashlight! (I also bought some ultrafire 18650 Li-ions to go with it) I put the pill...

dissapointed with my 1.5W 445 build's performance. (lots of pics!)

Yup! Still in school, senior in HS this year. And the blu-ray diode module cost about $110 back then.

    I love this host!

YOU BEAT ME TO IT!!! I am building one with (although with a different finish) the exact same host!! Just got the Cree jade in the mail today. I'll be posting soon!!! Looks really good, making me very eager to try my luck at it! Waiting on some copper lathe ammunition to crank out a heatsink...
