    Dim DX True 30mw

I finally got my return back. If you remember, I told them to test this next one before they send it out. I got an email 3-4 weeks ago that said they were having a problem with QC. Anyways, I got this one yesterday and it seems good so far. I was 60 degrees this morning and the dot was really...

    Dim DX True 30mw

Absolutly NOT the case (at least for me). When mine dimmed I could not see the beam at all, even in a completly dark room or outside. It dimmed to less than my 5mW red 4 year old Target pen.

    Dim DX True 30mw

Thanks for the update. Seems we have ruled out the switch and supply. Hope someone else will chime in... As I mentioned I sent mine back. I wrote a letter asking for mine to be tested thoroughly before sending it to me. I just got an email saying that my order has been delayed due to QC...

Nova laser will replace my DX!

X27 ::) Maybe you should write in the "Dim DX 30" thread stating that the switch is not the issue. I don't think anyone has taken it apart that far yet to find out.

I bragged too soon on my DX laser.

Guess they send out generic replies too.  That is the exact same response I got when I wrote about my dim 30mw...I hate generic responses from companies.

    Dim DX True 30mw

Well I got impatient and sent mine back. I wrote a letter about all of us here and how great of a percentage of us are getting dim lasers. Like I said before, I bought mine for star pointing mostly (I am really into astronomy) and you couldn't even see the beam at night except for the first...

    Dim DX True 30mw

Has anyone tried the switch issue on a 30mw True yet? I am out of town for the week and still want to solve the issue instead of sending it back and waiting another month and a half to get my next one that very well could do the same thing...

    Dim DX True 30mw

I just got my True 30 two days ago and same exact deal. Bright for about .5 sec then dims so much I cannot even see the beam at night. We got to figure this out if it is happening to this many people. I also tried 3 sets of brand new batteries (alkaline).

    DX 30mW...Somethings Wrong?

Well, I put in the brand new batteries and it worked good for about 5 times (around 5 seconds each time) then it faded again.  Does this thing really eat up batteries that much?  Tons of people have this unit and I haven't heard of any problems like I am having.  2 sets of batteries and 1 minute...

    DX 30mW...Somethings Wrong?

I think that may be it. I have Rayavac in right now and it still fluctuates but is much better. I guess the ones supplied can't supply high demands for long periods of time. Hopefully that is it, thanks.

    DX 30mW...Somethings Wrong?

I finally got my 30mW from DX. When I first push the button it is pretty bright but I can visually watch it fade. After it fades it is not that bright. Happen to anyone else. Lasers don't have a "burn in" do they? Should I contact DX?

    Green laser recommendation...cheap

ok, I think I will get it and just be very careful. What about off a white wall? This thing would have to be very close to pop a balloon, right?

    Green laser recommendation...cheap

I have been reading around the safety forum and am thinking twice... I really want this thing but I cannot afford $45 for goggles right now. I realize for star pointing I will be 100% safe and have nothing to worry about. However, I am going to want to use it for pointing as well. If I use this...

DVD-RW Laser...How to know what mA to push to?

Well a local shop has a samsung SD-616 for $19. What do you think? Probably be better off getting the Sony GB one...

DVD-RW Laser...How to know what mA to push to?

Yeah, that is a good idea. I think I am just going to have to spend the $18 and get one.
