Back to the world of lasers

Thanks a bunch I'll check it out. I also need to refresh myself on companies to avoid, models with quality control issues, today's pricing etc.... I know the forums have all this info, but can you tell me if most greens are diode now? I'll pm for specifics on your items.

Back to the world of lasers

Hello all. I've been out of the loop on the world of lasers for the last 8 or so years. My last project was a bluray 8x 400mW. Since that time it seems a lot has changed... True blue diodes are available, multiple watt lasers are affordable, and I have no idea what else. Oh and my bluray laser...

    Laser-Aircraft events

That sounds exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the info guys

    Laser-Aircraft events

That all sounds reasonable to me. When operating in the watt range and especially 532 is when I'd start to be extra cautious. On the bright side my vision is fine. A few days of eye pain, but no long term damage or side effects. Now a question for yall, if I'd like to jump in to a new build...

    Laser-Aircraft events

That and the fact that me trying to zap him from the cockpit would instantly flash blind me! The windscreens being polarized, which is necessary for the common stuff like light glare and direct sunlight tends to make the window turn an ungodly bright green. Sorry, been on the road and haven't...

Awesome! Lacking a focus lens do you see an appreciable difference in burning capability vs a 405?

    Laser-Aircraft events

Thanks for the info everyone. Got the appointment tomorrow, and looking at that hazard chart, I'd imagine I'm probably freaking out for nothing. It is amazing how common these incidents have become lately. I reported the incident with ATC as well as my company's security department. Like I...

    Laser-Aircraft events

Thanks for the health wishes. I'll just have to chill until then I guess. As far as getting back in to the lasers, I'm excited! It seems like blues are becoming more available than when I was active. I gotta do some reading up to figure out what I need :yh:

    Laser-Aircraft events

Question for those technically knowledgeable I have been away from the forums for quite a while and have not had time to continue with my laser hobby. Last week I was considering purchasing a laser by asking for some advice on the boards, it's been a while and I'm out of practice with whom to...

    I return

Im glad this site is around to help educate people about the potential issues it can cause

    I return

Thanks for the info... sad to see him be that way. I guess I need to check on my diode and see what it actually is. Anyone y'all would recommend for a new build? Quality and trustworthy?

UV light from Tanning beds causes cancer

i dont think 405nm would penetrate the skin and damage dna the way deaper uvb &a will... you would have to burn yourself in my opinion pretty heavily before it did any "uv" damage. I think that flying is a much greater risk to developing skin cancer.... or huffing gasoline, that will do it...
