Green Equivalent of Red Phlatlight from Projectors?

Hey everyone. I have this plan for a part of my steampunk costume I am working on, and I need a ridiculously bright green light... which is convenient, because our eyes are most sensitive to green!

Anyway, that said, what is the green equivalent of the red phlatlight that we get from projectors? What's the model called? I figure 9A is a nice balance of high power but also not too high that batteries won't be able to provide the current.

Oh, another thing: is there a way to make an LED behave like an incandescent lightbulb, in that it disperses in almost all directions? I have been looking at this, like a diffusor, but any diffusors seem to strongly reduce the amount of light that is actually projected around the work-surface.

EDIT: At DTR - Err, what kind of battery can provide 30A and still fit in a handheld? =p

EDIT 2: Why is it that the one that draws 30A (green) only puts out 2500lm whereas the one that draws 13.5A puts out 2100lm? I would think it would be capable of outputting a lot more light with that much more power?

just because it says it draws13 doesn't mean you should run it that far i believe that's the maximum rating......

The PT-54 green is rated @ 1550lm and the PT-121 is 2450lm. Not sure where you got the PT-54 is 2100lm unless that is some way overdriven stat and if so the 121 can probably be driven even harder.:beer:
 
Hmm... I am liking these PT121 and PT54 modules.

And yes, those are pulsed - I didn't notice that.

So question: is it feasible to be able to heatsink one of those PT121 modules without a TEc, fan/finned heatsink, etc.? Or should I stick with a PT54?
 

Yes I actually have the little brother to that cell here. 10AH 38120 But this is not going to fit into any standard host as it is wider than a D cell.

I also have two of these on order which I am hoping will fit in a 2D Cell host I have.

Isnt the 30A drive current for the 121 led pulse operation at 50% duty Cycle or have i miss read it ?

Looking at the data sheet is seems like you can do pulsed or constant at that current as long as you cool the LED properly but I could be reading it wrong.:thinking:

Those are some beastly batteries :O But I guess I will just do something along the lines of two LiFePO4 batteries at 18A (going to have to design a buck driver to output that kind of power. Will be nasty!)
