My new 10X/8X burning!!!

Re: My new 8X burning!!!

I'm glad you took the matches out of the boxes.. it could have been dangerous.

Wow, i muuuuuuuuuuuuust get a 400mW bluray!

Re: My new 8X burning!!!

I guess, i will save money from buying ice cream in the summer to afford one.

Re: My new 8X burning!!!

This is the aixiz 405nm glass lens :)

Nice 8x. :yh: If you are so glad now, think that with a 405-G-1 or a LarryDFW lens your P.O. could reach 530mW or something more....:D

If you PM me all necessary data of your laser, I'll be glad to add you in the 8x Owners datasheet.

Re: My new 8X burning!!!

Very nice laser buddy, these are becoming more and more tempting.

I could do with stocking up my laser collection again :p

Sure will do! :D

Re: My new 8X burning!!!

Hey man, nice burning. I am glad you like the laser. Unfortunately if the diode or driver burn out, I am not going to be able to replace them at my expense if you are going to be using it with 2 minute duty cycles. Hopefully that will never happen.

Re: My new 8X burning!!!

Yobresal:
The heat-sink looks like it can handle quite a bit of heat.
I just took a power reading of my 12X @ 300mA over 3.5 minutes from cold (room temp) start. At the end of the 3 minute cycle the casing was barely above room temp (75 F). Power fluctuation +/- 1mW.
My host is a bit smaller than that one but uses a brass heat-sink.

I've run this laser for 5 minutes constant on before it started to feel warm.

LOL that was just for the vid ;) when useing it normally I only have it on for >30sec. Thanks though Luke!

Re: My new 8X burning!!!

I would just hate to see that laser die a short death. It is a 10X diode being ran at around 400mA. It does have a nice heatsink but I still worry about bad things happening to your laser. ESPECIALLY after what happened to your RPL.

Really a 10X??? I thought it was an 8X??

Re: My new 10X burning!!!

The diodes are believed by most to be the same as 8X diodes and going off of the 5 of each 8X and 10X that I have owned I can confirm this.

Very nice laser, Dustin. I'm so jealous.:twak:
I'm still working on finding a cheap 12X for my "Micro Meatball Labbie"
I figure, the longer I wait, the cheaper they will become.
Also, more long term tests and technical info will be available.
But, I am so ready for some serious Photonage
:lasergun:

Just like that ^^^^, except 405nm instead of 532nm LOL
