Hello
I really need the dark horse custom heatsink to finish my dorcy jr laser build.

Following this tutorial

I-Hacked.com Taking Advantage Of Technology - Building a High-Power Blu-Ray Laser

It says I need the DJR Full Body V2 Heatsink but by the pictures it looks like the Sliver Full Body Heatsink is being used???????

This is the pic in that tutorial of the heatsink

I just got one, that looks like an aluminum thing(I don't know whether to call it a cylinder or a disk, it'l kind of a mix, like a fat disk, or a short cylinder) with a hole for the aixiz module and 2 set screws. It comes with a little black rubber o-ring that fits pretty snug, and if you look closely at the inside of the business end of the gutted dorcy, it has a little indent where the o-ring can go. It looks nowhere near as cool as the one in the tutorial, but it fits and works exactly the same, the o-ring fits snugly enough to hold it in place.

So, wait for someone to tell you that they have one, and buy it from them. Don't be disappointed if it doesn't look like the one in the tut, it should work.

PS: If youcan't find someone who has either type, try http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/custom-copper-heatsinks-made-order-42626.html

Hey please pm me! I have 2 of the old style heatsinks ready to go. They are not the full body heatsink but will work exactly the same as the full body heatsink in the tutorial.

I can do a good price for you :D

Take care -Adrian

I have an old style one I made, I'd sell for $15 shipped, with two pairs of diffraction grating glasses for fun. These are the pics from my build. My heatsinks don't have a set screw though. I attach using thermal compound (which I'd include - also makes for best heatsinking).

The ones I have are actually built by DH and have setscrews. No thermal paste is needed since the heatsink fits into the host snuggly giving great heatsinking. I'm willing to throw in some free preezies. It will come with old style DH heatsink, setscrew and allen key.

I have 2 avalible and can ship out today!! I'm asking $15 shipped for one.. $25 shipped for two... is that a deal or what?

Do you have any pics so I can see it?

Well, I didn't want to start a selling war, but I really could use the money. How's $10 shipped, lowest offer? (Includes 2 pairs of diffraction grating glasses, heatsink, and thermal compound)

No.. that is the sliver full body heatsink. The one I have is the old stlye heatsink v2 if I remember correctly. It looks like this:

Except it is not annodised and is only half the size!! it fits the top part of the module... If you want pictures of the exact ones I have.. I can send them to you after I get home from work.

yeah that would be great man. Weird how it says I need the older style heat sink while in the pictures it shows the full body...

If the pic in the link is what you actually receive, yes it is the old one. Same with the one in you're attached pic. The newer ones have a slightly different looking top.
