I'm pretty sure I am as well. This will be 100% confirmed if the wagon transportating my laserbee ever makes it through Donner pass.

its set to 410mA and i use this daily sometimes for 2-3 mins at a time but most of the time for no longer than 15-30 seconds. Pretty soon i will unveil a new host with a 12x @ 460mA. I just need to get the diode first :)

That sounds AWESOME slipstream. What driver are you going to use?

I am going to stick with the flex drive v5 , as Igor has found that the Vf has not changed or is lower than the 8x, if i read his results correctly. (ps there are pictures of the host in my album , but its not built yet)

I have 150mW and can run it for hours without drift but (of course!) I'd like to have more power. Does tripling the power make it noticeably better like green?

You know it won't be long before we are carrying 1W lasers in our pockets. We can do that now with IR but blue and green are not quite there yet.

I bet with 1/2W you can remove the collimator and use it for detecting leaks, piss stains, etc.

The recent work is showing that the 8X (and hopefully the 12X) is still remaining below, 6V. It would appear that my first diode pulled more voltage than average. We are still operating at the ragged edge of the flexdrive, but a replacement is in the works :)

Peace,
dave

Ehgmus is so awesome. He made me a host for my next 8X/12X as well. I love his hosts.
