I am very happy to see that the LPF is still alive and active! Big thanks to those who keep this place going.

I just wanted to share this build with the community.

Diode - NUBM47 (V2)
Host - 2 C cell "old school" (pre 1992) pewter Mag-Lite
Aluminum heat sinks
Copper module with thermal grease
Driver - P4K (5 modes)
Optics - G8 collimated
Batteries - 2 Molicel P28A 18650 35A with spacers
Switch - Cherry MX blue (I cannot stand latching switches; especially with multimode drivers. I prefer momentary switches especially with low duty cycle devices)

Cheers everyone!

I do not have a meter, but I'm guessing from the spec sheet that this diode is around 7 watts with no optics, its more than likely a little over 6 with a lens. I need to invest in a meter someday since I have a good collection of builds. I started building around the time I joined LPF so its been about 13.5 years. I have 28 builds, 16 of them are 445nm mostly NUBM44 and M140.

Very nice! I love the momentary for larger builds as well where they can be put in. A little extra protection just in case.

Awesome build, definitely a beast all around. Momentary is certainly interesting on that

Sadly, it seems to me LPF is at the end of its lifespan, but it's definitely great to see long time returning members

If you built that Mag light over 10 years ago that NUB47 is probably doing 6W+
If you know this my apologys..

Nice work putting it together:). Never thought of it but the momentary switch is nicer and safer.

The Nichia NUBM47 v2 laser diode was first available on July 27, 2019, according to Amazon.com. The specific model with ASIN B07662NHZZ was launched on that date. Another model, with ASIN B081MZQPPJ, has been available since October 5, 2017, according to Amazon.com.

P4K is may be a new concept of driver ? is a question
G8 Lens is new how lens of collimation

So this build is recently IMO

Since you are a returning member that has not posted for a long long time be aware that 3D aka Shadow Lasers aka 3D is a penniless destitute Italian attention whore troll in Italy that has been banned dozens of times using different nicknames fake personas, and has posted 100s of meaningless troll posts now because there are no longer any Mods on LPF to ban him again. He has no real world direct laser experience, knowledge ,or skills beyond pushing the on button on a couple of low cost low quality Chinese pointers. Shadow lasers has no credibility whatsoever among Italians in Italy, on LPF or anywhere on the internet. He doesn't even read or write English and just uses a translation program to make obsessive delusional moronic stupid troll posts.
All he does is make troll posts copying post he finds on the internet, right or wrong.

The quote below is the real face ofpsychotic completely self-absorbed delusional 3D aka Shadow laser who wrote in post 31 of the "Lasers Collection" thread:
"Just for people like you, Alaskan, Unown, and those pieces of shit that were there before and that always and only made fun of me, I had set myself the goal of making you pay one day, that day has come, I made sure that LPF became what it is now.. DEAD, with no one participating anymore, I brought LPF to destruction.. and the blame for all this is only yours and your insults and false ways of doing things..
I am smarter than YOU can think, far from being sick and shit.. I am in excellent health, I made fun of YOU again because that is what you deserve ... you are pieces of shit ...
LPF IS DEAD FOREVER, AND BY MY HAND!
My job is done forever! Now I can enjoy life in your face ...
You are left with a forum torn to pieces.. ahahahahahah"

Shadow Laser proves again and again and again he has nothing to say or do and nobody to say or do it with. He also always proves he has the mentality, emotional maturity, and impulse control of a not too bright 5 to 8 year old + "insignificant , angry and alone" like all trolls are.
3D aka Shadow lasers posts are just 3D playing pretend and is. 3D aka His posts are 100% meaningless nonsense troll posts, playing pretend he is not who and what he is, and devoid of any knowledge, skills, or experience 🤌🍕:poop:

Amazon sells millions and millions of products and they are laser diodes experts??
Show me the link..

I just found this article on Google!
From some photos on the new DTR website, you can see a bank of NUBM44 diodes with the case of a Casio projector underneath, from where they were extracted with their assembly. There's the date "08/2019" if I'm not mistaken, and then there's another photo of a NUBM47 A1 with no date, but I don't know what year they are.
