Anyone know where i can get a beam expander to fit a regular style laser pen/pointer? Like the same fitting/thread those novelty pattern attachments have.

As far as I know you're outta luck. In my 20 years of seeing laser pointers using a beam expander isn't or was a consideration by the makers. Only recently have companies offered beam expanders for hobby type lasers. You could make one.

Or you might try Dragon Lasers as well. Unfortunately they have only 2X.

Yes, The Sanwu 3X. Fits into the 9mm collimator thread. Just get the adapter with it. I have one and it works well.

I think the OP maybe looking for one to fit the cheaper eBay lasers that don't have adjustable focus or anything to thread onto.

For that is DL universal adapter. 6 screws (3 pairs around it) to fix it to almost any pointer or portable. I use this adapter with my Spartan with BE on the output lens side to fix optics on it. Beam expander makes the beam only slightly thicker but also better divergence a bit so very suitable for further optics use. Also Spartan is easier to handle since it is the smallest host in my portable collection. Also it helps to cool it a little bit (but really a little).

Well, that's good news, then. I wonder how one would line it up at the correct distance to keep it from clipping or not able to focus properly, but for these lasers you are lucky there is anything out there at all.

What has to be done is center the beam and make sure it is parallel to the beam expander. This is with the assumption the laser beam is collimated for lowest divergence.

Sanwu makes a beam expander that should screw right into the threads on the front of that laser. Also available from the laserpointerstore. Most of the cheap 532nm ebays have some beam issue. The only dpss lasers I have that are well built are from Dragon Lasers and Jetlasers. The Sanwu pointers have a pretty straight beam but slightly off center. From my tinkering with the cheap 532s the last square crystal glued to the module is usually off plane from the module slightly causing the beam to exit at an angle then hitting the focus lens off center exaggerating the error. Someone with a technical vocabulary could explain more intelligently.

Why do beams from most DPSS lasers leave the aperture is such awful angles?

They don't, normally. None of mine have a problem like you are describing and I have quite a few. I'd like to see a picture of the beam coming out of this laser if you can provide one.
