Laser Module importing to Australia?






Yes, they're legal. Would customs care? Possibly, but usually no. How do you know it was meant to arrive yesterday? Usually no one gives exact delivery dates like that.
 
Oh they care but modules will usually get through customs complete lasers a lot more scary. And mail takes ages lately anyway ....its not illegal for the module ,complete lasers are illegal over 1mW joke
 
I know it because it said the estimated delivery date is 07/09/2013 - 07/10/13
I did contact the seller and haven't got a reply from him yet.
And has anyone purchased a laser module from the second link? If so how long does it take to arrive to Australia?
 
Last module i got from joker 301 took just under 3 weeks from Israel to South Australia.
 
China just had a 7 day holiday shutdown so mail is behind for everywhere.
I don't know about time for your shipment from DTR but he gets things out very fast.
 
Yeah that's the excuse now, and yes its true but mail always takes ages from Hong Kong and China anyway.
 
Ahhh thank you so much guys, helped a lot :) How do you know this stuff about China's Holiday? Is there a link for all these things? that'd be useful.
 
Fasttech for example shut down for a week. As for DTRs shipping to Australia I ordered a module from him and it turned up in about 10 days.

He gets orders out very fast :beer:

well the holiday is finished now anyway. I found out after ordering something from China on eBay ...not happy.,i paid then next day a message came through oh we are having a weeks holiday will send item a couple of days after that ...if i had known that i wouldn't have bothered.
 
eBay's shipping time estimator isn't worth crap IMO. I always allow 1 month for stuff from China to arrive - most of the time it takes about 2 weeks max, but it happens.

Exactly so do i but i didn't expect to have to wait ten days before it was even posted . Grrrr

Note that this was for a $5 chinese laser. i wanted something less harmful than what i build for a friend and they decide to take it LOL.

hey i got one of those week before last, your lucky it was for a cheap laser, but i believe they keep records but that's a rumour i heard who knows if you keep getting them I'm sure you will be noted as a person of interest on incoming mail.
 
I beleive if you're cought out more than once or twice, you get flagged. But for something like i bought i highly doubt they'd flag you.

probably, but its the being more than a few times and i suppose common sense,you would think they would have computer data base on repeat offenders.because its not only you lose your lasers in your case no big deal,but the fact they can fine you ar well which would be no joke. I have had 4 letters like yours over 6 months i hope I'm not flagged. But ive just about all i really need. Without being greedy a couple more a high powered violet, and a 593 nm would be enough for the time being. I want more later but for now I'm pretty happy with what ive got.
