OK so this is my first flashlight build and most definitely not my last. nothing to hard, and the thing that made this really nice was it used a P60 drop in that i can change out later. So here are the parts i used to build this.

Solar Force L2P Flashlight Host for 18650 - L2P Host HA III Black Finish
Solar Force L2 Stainless Bezel Ring
P60 Drop-In
Cree XM-L U3-1C
Driver
Panasonic NCR18650B

So the build itself was pretty simple because all i really had to do was build a P60 and slid it in the host and i was done. So here are some pictures.

So where are the beam shots? ;) Nice work, I see you used the aluminium foil on the outside of the drop in too...Btw what modes did you select on the driver?

It's actually the Aluminum Adhesive tape. i got a huge roll of it from my dad he uses at work. he's a pipe insulator. and I'll get some beam shots when it gets dark out but right now it's nice and bright out there. and for the driver i just left it stock so there's High>Medium>Low>Strobe>SOS.

This light is super bright. I need to get some pictures of it outside but I live in town so street lights kill it for me and its been raining and snowing so I don't want to take my dslr out to the high school track/football field. But soon enough I'll get some beam shots up.

There are other styles but I thought this wasn't to expensive and pretty easy to build.

Nice build!

Just a tip, because you're using a drop in module, you might not feel much heat on the outside of your host even though the XM-L is at boiling temperatures due to the non heat conducting nature of drop ins. Make sure not to keep it on for too long in high mode or you might smoke your led :)

This. You can use foil to help conduct some heat to flashlight body to buy more time before gets too hot
