Thank you for the input, currently have a 3d printer and flashed it with marlin so somewhat familiar with the os. Still debating on what my next build will be. Current printer is a bit too small to add an engraver I think. Torn between another printer or a cnc mill. From my understanding a 3d...
Tried looking around to see if anyone is using their lasers with a cad chassis. Built a laser a couple years back from info found here, but haven't really done much with it. But with a practical application that doesn't risk getting me in trouble looking to dig back into it.
Have been looking for a host like this but maybe have been looking in the wrong places. Anyone know if I can find a host like this anywhere? Thought about buying this laser and gutting it to use as a host. Can get it delivered for under $20
My 190w laser stays locked up in my gunsafe for a reason. Playing around with an old set of transition lense eye glasses. It is scary to see a pair of glasses that take a minute in the sun to change instantly.
Was contemplating getting some of these batteries to start off with. But my better judgment told me to stay away from cheap batteries from china now I see why lol. Even though 16340's don't have this same problem will definitely go elsewhere for quality.
I agree it is all different in its on ways, but love electrical work. Honestly have been doing a lot of reading, but it never really clicks until I get my hands on things.
What size drivers are you working with that it heats up? Was under the impression that under 1A it isn't bad. Most I...
Got my load tester and driver today. Tester was in an antistatic bag which I was impressed with. Surprise the Aixiz driver was not.
*Edit Got my load tester put together and looking pretty.
Yea it would be kind of handy to know if those lenses would work. Possibly something I could use as a spare or have handy if I am showing someone else.
Thanks for the heads up on the forum being quiet. As long as there is no probless with it plan on turning this thead into a running log of my...
Everything ordered now to sit around and wait impatiently. Something tells me with my luck should have ordered a spare diode a driver lol.
One question about eye protection. Oxy acetylene has emissions between 380nm and 750 nm. Seems to me if I have access to eye protection for cutting and...
Here are some pictures of my host, streamlight scorpion case. Gutted the lens portion of the light today.
Lens housing dimensions
40mm overall length
13mm of threads
28mm inside diameter at widest part
9mm from front to first lip
25mm inside diameter at first lip
6mm from first to second lip...
Can't find a picture at the moment. But could also solder the diode directly to the driver as well correct? If I understand it correctly if I did it that way would slide the diode on the driver line up and solder at all three contact points? Using LD + and both LD - points.
I like the looks of Jufran's setup for the load tester, nice clean little board will definitely have to get one. What do you guy's work areas look like? Have been building my own computers for the last 15 years or so and familiar with esd straps. Usually just ground to the computer case, so...

Found this setup to adjust my power output on the driverge. Thank you everyone for the input, I have learned more trying to figure this out and having people point out my mistakes than simply reading forums or assembling a pre...
