Wow, so they actually used a copper module way back in the day :)
When I joined the modules were brass and maby 70% had a pot.
Then they quickly went to the ribbed aluminum sleeve and a bare diode just like you showed. Sad:(

Fast tech had $5 to $6 dollar 532 modules that could potted to 100mW and a little more. How much was IR I don't know but still.
Its been a while since I checked.
Depending on what the output power was in these 532nm modules 0.5 watt 808nm diodes to 1 watt diodes were used. The ones I have that approach 200 mW in output power are 1 watt 808nm pump diodes. One could get up to 140 mW of output power with the 0.5 watt pump diodes, IIRC.

Yup,
if you remember you sold me a 1W 808 pumped 532 for cheap. You measured it at 191+mw.
You re soldered the "pos" wire back on that usually falls off these modules that goes to the back of the diode on the board. Mentioning it because I was impressed with soldering job especially in that tight space.
After you put a heatsink on the driver circuit I had Rich make 5/8 wide sink for the module. Not much but something.
I still have it but I cant bring it outside because I put it in a toy gun that looks like a Glock

You know I had forgotten about that. I'm very glad that you were happy with the way I set it up for you. That actually made my day! Those modules didn't come with any wiring. All those wires I put on personally.

Didn't know you put the wires on. I thought it was like those 532's .5 pump from FastTech where they come with the wires but they always fall off. You also put a spring on and the wire on the back to give a option on how to set it up.

Yes, IIRC, I also shorted out the tactile switch in a way that you could also clip that with diacs, diaginal cutters, so if you needed to use it, it would be easy to to remove the short.

Thats right, I forgot about that. Sure gave me some options on how to set it up..
