Get the scope, projects will come 
I just want to be able to view the signals and waveforms in all the things I build. Only a few of the things ive built are operating in the 1ghz+ range so I figure I would be pretty happy with a scope I could use up around 1ghz. Also just imagine the accuracy you could view startups and pulses if you were storing like 10gsps.
