I'm pretty sure that Vortish was just giving you some useful pointers on appropriate behavior for the forum (probably good tips for any forum).

Your first day on a new job you wouldn't walk in drunk and start unplugging peoples computers and then defend your actions by claiming you don't know all the rules yet.
