Whats wrong with posting a WTB for a non-laser related item? Not that unusual.
 
meh Well to me it just seems like if someone is looking to buy something and it is nothing
to do with most of the stuff on this forum it belongs somewhere else. But if you already
have some random thing that you might want to sell or trade then that seems like it would be fine.

I wouldn't come on here asking if anyone has a nice leather jacket to sell. But I dunno maybe it's no big deal just seems out of place.
