Hello.

I want to buy my first laser pointer. I found this forum on google. You seems like an experts. In my country ( Poland ) i found two laser pointers which are quite cheap ( around 30$ ). The HJ-A88 ( can have different names from different manufactures ) is little more expensive than JD-303 ( sometimes called SD-303 ). Which of this laser pointers is better, newer ?

I am not in a hurry, so do not expect to get an answer ASAP. I need my laser for new year eve, so still have got 23 days left :D

Please, help me decide :D

Hello vw, welcome to LPF! :)

Back to the topic, if you have the money I wouldn't recommend buying neither. I seriously would check out Livinloud's thread of buying your first green laser.

PS: Why do you need it for new year's eve?

What kind of power are you looking for? That would help alot!

WOW, what a fast reply.

So, power, do not need much. I like the effect of star wars sword ( light saber I think ). I want to play with it on new years eve, just for fun. I do not need to cut anything, or to burn anything.

And about those lasers that you recommend, I would like to buy it, but I do not have paypal account and in Poland I doubt that we have got laser pointers from good companies, only the cheap ones, but I might be wrong cause it is hard to tell which one is genuine and which one is fake.

I can spend at most 50$, cause this is just for fun, not serious reason to buy.

Lightsaber? :can:

Didn't we just have a thread on this today :D

These are good lasers Tmack suggested, however, the "lightsaber" effect shon in the pictures will not be quite like that for you, as NO4H is using smoke/fog to bring out the beam, it will still be visible, like this:

This is about a 50mw laser, so yours will be just as, if not more bright.

A 100mw green laser will impress ALL of your friends! :D

Thank you guys. This forum is great. Unfortunetally, I live in Poland, which is in Europe, and I do not have PayPal account, so I can not pay to somebody who lives in the USA. But this offer is very good ( from NO4H ), 50$ for true 100mW laser pointer, we do not have such offers in Poland :(

You can easily make a Paypal account, it works worldwide. Not all countries can receive money, but all can send it, so you can buy lasers from any part of the world.

Try registering your credit/debit cards with Paypal and see which works.

You beat me ^^
PayPal is worldwide. I know of a member that's from Poland. He must use Paypal

OK. I've asked him if he still got the green laser and I will try to open paypal account.

OK, so I have got a PayPal account, do not know if I can send money, but looks all right. Will see.

And I have got another question:

Is 250mW red visible as much as 100mW green laser ? Is 250mW red can burn things faster than 100mW green ?

You should easily be able to send money, if you have the needed amount on your bank account you registered.

Ignore the paypal "balance" on the Overview page, that is not the balance of your bank account, but your recieved money on Paypal alone.

250mW red will not be visible as 100mW green, but it can burn things a lot better because it will most likely be focusable, where as green will not.

However, I would very much reccomend to get the green as your first laser.

NO4H has got green focusable lasers in his thread. Still waiting for an answer from him.

That's cool, but green focusables are generally rarer than other laser colors. If you can get a 100mW green focusable, that'd be awesome, even better deal.
