Where did I mess up with my driver?

Hi there,
I built a DDL driver for a blu-ray diode (803T) and I tested with a dummy load. Everything seemed to be working just fine, however when I connected my diode it did not turn on. I made sure to short the capacitor to discharge it before connecting the diode, but that didn't seem to have any effect. It never turned on.

As you can can see in the image below, the driver works as intended. I don't have a picture of it set at max current but its max is around 115mA.

I used an LM317 voltage regulator, 10Ohm resistor,100Ohm potentiometer, 1N4001 diode and a 10uF capacitor.

You getting any laser output at all?
Is the 9v battery brand new?

Unless I am missing somthing,
It looks like your only getting 10mv across a 1ohm resistor
So 10mA, probably not enought to drive ur diode

EDIT:nevermind I see you said your pic wasn't full output

Yeah I'm not getting any laser output at all. The only thing I can think of is taht I killed the diode by not shorting the capacitor. I thought i did but perhaps I did it wrong? I mean, what I did was take a wire and touch both nodes where the capacitor's legs are connected. ..
