And that logic only holds up if people are running them at lower powers. Which the people asking for really efficient diodes aren't going to be doing.. They're going to pushing them for all they're worth for the bragging rights
If you give two of these diodes the same amount of current, the differences in waste heat output between the 'efficient' and 'non-efficient' one is going to be negligible unless you have some pretty sensitive measurement equipment, since your talking about a 100-200mW difference in thermal output between them.. When it's putting out 6W(or more) of waste heat already.. your not going notice .2W more or less...
