Hi all, as many of you all probably already know, I am working on converting LPF to the vBulletin forum system.

I was thinking of having a test version of the forum opened.  The new forum would have a different link which I would post here, and it would contain all of the data that LPF contained at the time I set it up.

This would be purely for testing purposes.  All posts on the new forum would only appear on the new forum.  All posts here would only show up here, but eventually would be brought over to the new system.

This would only be a test run, and assuming it went well, I would need to delete all data on vBulletin and do a fresh import from YaBB, meaning all test posts would be lost on the new forum, so any important data could be kept here -- but the other site would just be for testing.

I will be posting a link to the new test forum in a day or so.

*** critical to remember, please spread the word ***
--> on the new system, the only way to log in will be to use the 'forgot password' feature on vBulletin and have a new password emailed to you.  Current YaBB passwords can't be imported so everyone will need to have a new password emailed to them.   Please make sure your email address is correct in your YaBB profile.

--> If you registered after 7:00PM EST Feb 24th your profile was not exported into the new forum, therefore it won't work if you try to request a new password for the account on the new site.

This is only going to be a test and this YaBB forum will remain opened during the testing.

Before I post the link to new test forum, just wanted to remind everyone you need to request a new password. Also, this test forum will eventually be deleted entirely so any new posts their are just for testing.

Please post any error messages, etc. Reputation couldn't be imported over but vB does have a great reputation feature.

Please note that I didn't have time to rename all the Boards and Categories yet, so thats why it looks funny. It's 2:30AM here I gotta get some rest. Spent at least 40hrs working on this project this week heh.

Please post any issues in this thread, I woln't be online again for at least 20hrs but can't wait to be back to see what you all think.

going to sleep now but i will prob wake up in a few hrs to check back, i am really anxious to see how this goes

Edit : Aside not being able to log in, it look clean cut right now, but i liked my blue theme better, white is REALLY bright 8-)
 
yeah this is just the default vB theme i will eventually change it but didn't get around to that yet

mainly worried about the functionality right now, data integrity testing/etc
