I know all the vets hate the lasers and service from WL, but how about the Torch? If the torch is a bad decision, what would be a better one? :thanks:

Grab a stick at least an inch thick and about two feet long. Wrap a rag around the end and dip it in kerosene. Bingo!

If you want to burn crap... get a lighter, or blow torch.

If you want light. Get a flashlight.

There is no question the "Torch" is bright, but given run time, and how it warms up (have fun toting around oven mitts ) it's not really a practical light.

Nothing wrong with it as a complete novelty item though... just kind of pricey.

I'm new to lpf so im not well known, but anybody who knows me would know that the torch would be exactly like you said: a novelty item! I'm asking if the torch would be the best novelty item for this category or if there is a better flashlight. :D

Spend $20 or whatever, to try out the xeno burner first see if you like it...

I'm sure the Torch is a nice novelty piece, if you don't mind the price tag.

Build your own "torch" with 4xLiFePO's in series powering a 12V 100W lamp. $20 + hardware.

I was actually going to buy the torch but look in the spec's under battery life, it last's 5 minutes YES I'M SERIOUS 5 MINUTES BS

WHoa... Idk why but I thought it was more like 15-20 minutes. Certainly extremely shitty, but not that bad. Considering these are WL specs, might well be 2-3 minutes.

I bought a WL Torch and spae battery---gets about 8 minutes on a charge which is enought time for most uses.

Is a nicely done thing, works well, and very bright but a novelty + I only paid $99 for it during a WL sale.

When it first was released it was very unique---today you can find a lot of flashlights that output 4000 lumens or more for less than WL wants for Torch these days.

I meant extremely shitty compared to actual flashlights. You know... the ones actually used for lighting

A 75 watt halogen from Stanley was only $30. It lasts like 10-15 minutes and if you use a parabolic mirror it'll burn anything you want. Good throw for the money too.

Also a 75 W halogen is like 1500 lumens max

No way is a 100 watt 4100 lumens. Maybe 2200. A 35 w HID is way brighter than both.
