There are a lot of companies offering high power IR laser pointers now to people who generally have no idea of how dangerous they, don't have any real use for them, nor have any laser pointer safety training or knowledge.
Is just an offshoot of the "power for the powerless" chase for the nothing to do set.

Typically Chinese manufacturers and resellers ignore of all US laser Laws, rules, and regulations and smuggle pointers over 5mW and Sunglad is no different. They smuggle high power laser pointers into the USA by means of false value and item description customs declarations using Chinese shipping companies that don't check outlaw suppliers hiding behind China's lack of laws or concern about what is going on/ongoing as well as using the Postal service expecting the package won't get caught.

I have a feeling the Chinese are going to ruin lasers for everyone by unloading these onto the general public, even worse than Wicked Lasers did. The videos of these things incinerating objects are popping up everywhere on every social media site.

Agreed. Absolutely terrifying to think. I’ve recently obtained a 100W MOPA at work. That thing is scary in a controlled setup when running at full power. These things are uncontrolled and be used by idiots who just find it cool.
