Can't remember. Which WL do you have now?
IMHO, a lot of it will be based on your budget. I would go for the main WL first so you have a nice broad range of WLs 405nm, 445nm, 532nm and 650nm then start to fill in with 473nm, 520nm, 589nm, 593.5nm, 635nm and 671
Enjoy, You can't go wrong with any of them :)

ah ok thanks! i have 638nm 340mW atm. i should probably put that in my sig.

well that sled diode is a phr-803t i have the drivers and axis module, just need a host i guess :P

build a 650nm laser. The diodes are cheap and great to learn with. Also you can appreciate the difference between the reds.

Any recommendation for kits? I've been scrolling through jayrobs selection. I like the black 18650 kit. Any idea where to get a 300mw+ 650 diode + driver(I guess in this case flex drive)

You can pick up an LPC-826 diode on eBay for like $10 - that's for the bare diode, you'd need to press it into a module too.

I think you should get a 488nm diode, or DPSS 604nm. Very nice colors and get be found in eBay pen hosts for around $5 ;)

Woah, 5 bucks for that color? Got a listing? I got to get my hands on one

Bahaha I just realized I read that wrong -face palm-

If you want to make a PHR laser a pen host would be a good idea as it doesnt require much heat sinking. A good current range is 100 -120 mA. If you want to try building your own driver for it, let me know and Ill hunt out the low dropout regulator I used. With this you can use 2 Li bats to drive the PHR-803T.

Edit: Another great diode for a pen host would be the Osram PL520. Although its low power, it's still very bright and single mode...
