can somebody give me a step-by-step for focusing a 40-50mW Sandstone module?
assuming that a quarter-sized dot on the wall @ ~25ft is out of focus

Try using a magnifying glass... normally low priced Green Modules are not
focusable...

I think my 80-100mW one is coming today ... I'm going to put it into a newwish case....if you know how can I have some advice? If you want to focus it you probably have to take it apart...gooey gus may know how...

one one of my rominsen modules, you can just find the black part towards the front and twist that, you may have to break the seal first(a small portion of glue, should be very easy, if its not, then you should NOT force it)

I got my 100mw module last week and put it in this host today: http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10093

After you take the 5mw module out, just pop the Sandstone module in. Hotwire the switch like Jayrob shows in his build, and solder a bare wire into + hole on the driver board. This wire must be pinched into the case when you close it. For some reason these modules don't quite make contact with the case like the one that came with it. Also, use a 3.6 CR2 batt in place of the crappy one that comes with it. This is probably not the best host to put these guys in - Jayrob's kit with the kickass heatsink would be better -but if you use a reasonable duty cycle (60sec on/off) it doesn't seem to heat up very much. It's an easy build and a cool little host!

Here's a quick beam shot. Quality sucks as I used my iPhone, but this was taken in normal lighting with no fog:

Yeah... those "Standstone11" modules from Susie are
great for the price... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
