I currently have a pair of the uvex from amazon and am looking for a new pair to go with my higher powered lasers as I'm not comfortable with the uvex and my new 405nm 700mW and my 445nm 2.2w. Which pair of eagle pair do you guys recommend I noticed the one set is $59.99 for OD 5 but only 20% visible light transmission. Are those necessary or could I get away with the cheaper pair that are OD 4 for $41.99

These: Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles

Vs.

These: Eagle Pair® 190-540nm & 800-1700nm OD5 Laser Safety Goggles

Any help is really appreciated.

The second pair are what I'd go for as they will block any leaked IR from DPSS lasers. They don't cost that much extra and it's worth the peace of mind.

With 20% vlt am I really going to be able to see anything. Meaning if I'm outside at dusk/night these will be like blinders right?

I can see everything with my od7 glasses. (but laser beams.) they aren't tinted dark at all, just a light orange tint.

Mine are 20% VLT and it's not as bad as it sounds. Outside at dusk or night it will not be easy to see around but then it isn't anyway...

I think so I'm not sure. A member "operator" had a bunch at an incredible price. Maybe ask were he got his. I know he had about 8 pairs and they sold in less than a day.

The ones we hot list at $210 directly from them, so that's a no go. Yikes

Filter DBY
VLT 35%
Style 34 (the most important :p)

Just called. You can order directly from their number. $86.00 shipped to NY for the ARG Style 34 frames.

They are amazing glasses. They don't get better. For your 405 and 445nm they are od7.

And they look good too. I don't mind wearing them at all. They come with a serious case, a lanyard, and even clip in frames for prescription lenses. Top of the line

The ARG go for $100 list.
They go up to 534nm. But that all you need

Yeah I called and the offered for $80

With 3w it looks like less than 5mw. And they are very lightly tinted. You'll see fine. LPM screen etc.
