Ring around Laser dot?

Helllo! So i just got a violet laser off of ebay but around the dot, there seems to be a ring like spill on a flashlight? Is there anyway to fix this? o_0 The dot seems very significant... like not a little maybe 6 inch diameter on the spill from 10 feet away? is this normal?Thanks!

This can be normal for a specific build or a dirty lens or a wierd diode or .......
It would help if you have a picture to post. Sometimes the spill results from the target.

White wall? well the laser is new ill try to clean the lens? actually its appearing on my wood door also...

Be careful cleaning the lens. Don't scrub it. STOP NOW.
Try that dusting gas in a can first. Don't blow into it -- for sure a glob of spit will mess it up. There are some threads on here about cleaning lenses.
I just got a $11 Blu from ebay and it's good at 45 mW !!

Gotta admit though... i actually dropped it off my bed and it stopped ringing weirdly.. i m guessing it wasnt aligned or something

Is the height of the fall directly proportional to the magnitude of the problem that it fixes?

I'll keep this in mind for future lasers...

Its actually inversely proportional! I love my new laser! i think i m gonna get atleast another red ^^ maybe blue when they get cheaper too! maybeone day ill be able to build a blueray laser!
