Just picked up my first burning red made by andy_con. Excited to get it.

So, this decreases my need for a super powerful green. I'm going to grab something <100mw from Optotronics. I was planning on the 75mw, but I wonder if I need that kind of power now that I have my red. I just want something that is super visible without smoke. Just going to use it to point at things and bounce a beam around the room with prisms, mirrors and optics. Is 75mw overkill for this application?

Personally, I think 75mW would be perfect.
It's just at the threshold for burning, so if you do want to play you still can pop balloons and maybe light a match, but it's not too bright.
It will be brighter than your red laser though.
Anything less than 50mW (at least to my eyes) is pretty weak. With 75mW you shouldn't have to use a lot of smoke either.

See my review of the OPTOTRONICS 50mW laser in the review section. The beam is plenty visible day or night. I whole heartedly recommend The OPTOTRONICS MODEL ;) rob 8-)

Hi cexshun,
Just to let you know, all of the +65mW lasers we have in stock right now were all verified with output power of at least 70mW and a few are even above 75mW.
Any RPL or pen pointer laser order today or tomorrow can be delivered to our USA customers before 12/25 if express shipping is used, but if priority mail is used, it may or may not make it in time and would be delivered on the 26th.

Jack
