i built a some what portable ir i used a 2d cell flashlight thanks to disma for help on the psu . heres a vid of it.

about $100 the only thing i had to buy is the diode and diode houseing the rest was stuff i had

I'd consider making one once I recover from lot of recent expenses...that is, if it's not too hard
