She was also charged with interference, and that will stick, she shouldn't got in the middle of it...

What does Bob have to do with this? He was charged with...

Conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right, two counts of conspiracy to obstruct justice, two counts of bribery, three counts of honest services wire fraud, three counts of extortion under color of official right, conspiracy for a public official to act as a foreign agent, public official acting as foreign agent, and obstruction of justice.

Bob Menendez was charged with felonies, just like assault of a police officer is. Interference is not. This is more Trump distraction. After having to dismiss charges against the mayor, Trump is going after some one else. Don't look at my failures, look at this instead.

Kristi Noem defined habeas corpus as the president's right to deport persons. Habeas corpus is in Article 1 putting it squarely on Congress and is Latin for Produce The Body. It forces the government to litigate why a person is being held. Norm should be embarrassed.

Well, yeah, a lot of felonies, I suppose they both have that? I suspect the assault charge will be dropped, and she will have to pay a fine. they were just itching to charge someone, and she gave them what they were looking for, not smart...

Oh man, you're not going to start that pettiness nonsense with me, are you?

One mistyped letter and you feel you need to point it out, God knows how many misspelled words I have seen you post..

Let's not go there as it's not helpful at all...
You did it twice in 2 different posts and I felt you should make a note of it.

If you thought Kristi Noem's testimony about habeas corpus was bad today, she doesn't even know that it is an Article I protection placing it under only Congress. When asked she admitted she didn't know. Trump's finest!

 This reminds me of Reagan's SDI, or Star Wars as it became known. Israel is a tiny country far smaller than the US. Trump won't get anything close to his golden dome.

Pessimism and grievances paul, you are just a broken record of TDS and despair, that said you just don't know what our military industrial contractors are capable of today, the system could be comprised of hundreds of smaller domes in an overlapping array, the Golden Dome system could turn out to be something that saves countless lives, but I get it, you would rather see cities destroyed than see Trump get a win, SICK !

I wish someone would show the maga people how to use Google...

Habeas corpus is a fundamental legal principle that requires the government to demonstrate a legitimate reason for detaining someone. It's a writ, or court order, that compels the custodian of an individual to bring that person before a court to determine the legality of their detention. Essentially, it ensures that no one can be held indefinitely without due process of law.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Purpose:
Habeas corpus challenges the legality of detention, ensuring individuals are not imprisoned arbitrarily or without proper justification.

    • "Great Writ":
It's often referred to as the "Great Writ of Liberty" due to its historical importance in protecting individual freedom against unjust imprisonment.
    • Constitutional Protection:
The U.S. Constitution protects the right to habeas corpus, though it can be suspended in cases of rebellion or invasion when the public safety requires it.
    • "Show Me the Body":
The phrase "habeas corpus" literally translates to "you have the body," reflecting the writ's demand to bring the detained person before the court.
    • Challenging Detention:
A writ of habeas corpus can be used by individuals to challenge various forms of detention, including imprisonment, mental health confinement, or involuntary guardianship.
    • Importance in Democracy:
It's a crucial safeguard of liberty and a cornerstone of democratic societies, ensuring that individuals can challenge unjust detention and prevent arbitrary government power.

I don't think it can be done either for such a vast country as the US. He might be able to do something like that for the larger cities, but with today's hypersonic missiles, and add in the soon-to-be AI, I'm afraid nothing will be 100%, even with Israel being very tiny, stuff still gets through the "Iron Dome"...

But really, you don't have to protect every square inch of America, just where the people mostly are, because those are going to be some of the targets, besides the military of course...

And that's if you're ok spending a trillion dollars trying to make it real...

I would rather see 175 billion spent on a Golden Dome than to see 10 cents spent on DEI anything, DEI IS RACISM !

Only the best for the position of the United States secretary of homeland security!

Why doesn't that give me a sense of security?

Yeah, we got it, you're against trying to include a diverse group of people in the workforce and trying to make everyone equal. Oh, and under the guise of "RACISM!", we can't forget that little nugget...

175 billion is what is quoted, as always, it will be 10 times more than that with no guarantee that it will work or is even possible...

DEI discriminates based on race/gender, that is racism/sexism.

You can use the word " include " but that also means others will have to be excluded and this is done based on race/gender, the only fair way is to decide based on merit/skill and use the people who are most qualified without allowing race/gender to be a factor.

I get it, I get it, just call anything trying to make things fair for the smelly brown people "RACISM!", that way we can call anyone trying to push back "RACIST!", it's the old switch-er-oo! Genius, I bet Steven Miller came up with that one!
