O-Like New or Old style 200mW

I plan on picking up a 200mW red from O-Like (And goggles!)

Is the difference between the budgetgadgets style (New) or the DX dilda style (Old) purely cosmetic, or is one better than the other.

Also is it safe to night point at distance unpopulated objects without goggles.

I'm a n00b, so is the O-Like a good first burner or should I get the DX
 





Go with the one from O-Like if you want an up-to-spec laser.
If you don´t live in th US, I would buy the DX one, it is $20 cheaper but without the guarantee that it really has 200mW.
It doesn´t matter if you take the old or new style one, it is YOUR choice! :)

Hey ReaperZ, Have you ever manged to turn off a streetlight, I've tried with both my 50 greens and my 50 red. Are the NZ ones timed or something
 
they run on timers yes, not light sensors like some countrys.

so no, you cant turn them off with lasers =(

and this is with a lot more than 50mw lol
 
I'd go with the dilda. It has a finer thread for the lens. Same as the aixiz module. I have a 405 new style and it has a coarse thread. Doesn't stay in focus well. It uses thread lock to keep everything steady. focus on the dilda is more precise. Both are from O-like.

The dilda style lasers all have the same guts and have a pot on the driver right? so wherever you get one from you can always turn it up?
 
Probably. I forgot if it has a pot. There was pics somewhere on the forum.
I think the new and old style are exactly the same. only difference being the head. the dilda uses the thread on the lens and the new style has the custom thread on the outside of the barrel and the lens threaded into the head.

mewrox99, if your gonna use it a lot and are willing to spend a few more bucks, maybe look into the new style waterproof one on O-like. It uses a 18650 lithium battery. Those rechargable CR2's gave me some trouble before. The charger it came with cooked the batteries. I'm on a 3rd charger now that finally seems to charge them properly. There voltage ratings are slightly different then other lithium batts.
 
good choice .. i still burn things with mine daily. take it with me everywhere lol
 
if you want it to look better just pull the round tip off of it and put on a normal aixiz focus ring on the lens
 
How long does it usually take from them to ship the order.

I ordered it on the 24th and it's still processing. And is there shipping faster than DX. I need to make sure I have the laser before November 5th (Guy fawks light)
 
china has a public holiday at the moment, from 1st - 7th (maybe 10th)

She replied to my email. It got posted today. Delays were due to the holiday
