Hello all.
I made a liverwursted start here so I am trying to iron this out here
.
My name is Sebastian. I am from germany. I am aka ianmcmill on the internets.
I am studying chemistry and english. Before I worked as a chemistry laboatory assistant. Some day I will be teacher. Hopefully
.
I started with electronics in late 2012 (around novembre) and my first project included several aspects of the game. Arduinos, Stepper motors and of course Lasers! With the help of my education in learning strategies I try to acquire as much knowledge as I need to make the stuff I want. Also I try to mediate it to others. This is very important in the forum/internet age where knowledge seems to lurk around every corner but true understanding and critical awareness of the sources could often be quite doubtful (dangerous scolism).
I leanred that too and headlessly ordered an IR 808nm laser with 1W. I really should have known it better that this kind of light is invisile to human eyes and therefore nearly impossible to focus. Not to forget that this laser diode is like some kind of radiation. Doesn't smell, can't be seen but deliveres a creeping death to your eyes. Lukily I was at first unable to get this diode working. Now it is rotting in my electronic treasure chest.
Hope I havn't bored you to death. looking forward to contribute to this community.
