I need a few different drivers. Can you guys help me find some?

1. 900mA boost for a dual driver 445 build

2. 1.1A-1.5A boost for 445

3. 530mA boost for bdr s06j

4. 460mA boost for LPC 815

I want the cheapest possible. Is there any dx $2 drivers I could mod for these output currents?

You sir, need a flex drive.

I'm openly declaring that LPF needs to design it's own......

I'm also very close to mailing off a flex drive to someone to reproduce, since I play dirty now.

not to mentions that dr. lava makes thousands of dollars off of us and has almost 0 contact with his customers....hes off playing at PL.

reproducing it would be kinda like stealing his design..
and it is hard to do .. and you would need a reflow oven because soldering it by hand or hot air is hard..

I tried the math a few months ago, and I couldn't figure out how there was any more than $12 max cost in a flexdrive.

Regardless, why not iterate the concept, and get a higher current capable design, and open source the design so that the community will always have a free starting point. Open alternatives are the surest way to avoid getting locked in to overpriced and unreliable sources for essential (though I don't actually believe that point) components.
 
I think the issue with pushing the boost drivers above 1.5A is because the current draw from the battery is not high enough. I actually think it would be fair to steal his design because he hasn't got them back in stock in a long time and has no contact or updates as to when they will be back. Anyone have a flex to ship to someone to reproduce? Im down to do it.

Also, even if they were readily available. I wouldn't like to pay $23 + shipping for every driver I buy.

I like using jib77 drivers but I want BOOST drivers. Im tired of trying to find a battery combo for weird size hosts. For example, I have no cluse how I am going to run those SAIKs I bought from you... I was going to use one of jib77 1.8A drivers. but I cant find a good battery combo. So now I'm stuck looking for a way to find a 1.8A boost driver. I may even use triple groove 2 drivers if it comes down to that.

Wait, is there something I can buy to boost the a single li-on to use with a jib7 driver?

Why doesn't this guy just buy/make a variable power supply and use a resistor and ohms law to get the desired output current that he wants? I=(Vsupply - Vdiode_drop) / R. Works fine with all my applications.. what am I missing?

That'd require two cells. Not always possible.

BH, you know Grooves have about the same drop as jib's driver, right? They're not boost.

After waiting 8 (i think?) weeks for Lava's crappy service, only to receive a doa driver and a story about how the delay could have been avoided if I had paid for faster shipping (i don't know how.... He took 4 weeks to ship) - there's absolutely no love here. Someone with such poor business practices doesn't deserve one ounce of exclusivity or stranglehold on progress here.

Because he (and everyone else) needs a SMALL footprint DC-DC boosting
circuit with constant current regulated output.

"reproducing" a flexdrive is not the problem, it's a basical application of the 63010 chip with an "extra" component for the current control ..... the problem is to find someone that can manage the assembly of a TSSOP grid-ball miniature package in decent numbers and without too much failed units, and this usually require a professional SMD assembly machine (and, again, this usually means high costs)

So, why just not use an alternative schematic ? ..... i know that the flexdrive is very good as design and buck/boost working, but, think about a pair of things ..... first, is difficult that laser hobbysts needs a full sepic unit (you mount the driver in a specific host, and this means that you already know if you need a boost or a buck, so 2 basical designs already solve 99% of the possible uses ..... ok, ok, 3 specific designs, if you count also linears) ..... second, there are already some decent chips that works discretely good, someone as boost, someone as buck (and also as linears) .....

Then, why break your heads trying to build a flexdrive clone, if you can do it more easily, and cheap, with different designs ? ;)
 
A boost-only would be just fine.

Uhm, there are some easy IC to use for this, with FB voltages around only 100mV ..... til 500mA, LY2106 or BL8532 ..... til almost 1A, is better to use PAM2803 .....

Or for higher currents can be redesigned a new circuit that use the same ICs, driving an external mosfet, but this make the circuit more complex.

Other than this, need to find a component source for them (here in Italy they are simply impossible to find, maybe in the US it's different)
 
If flex drives can be paralleled, why not just use similar components paralleled on one PCB?
