Lasers arrived after Customs checked it?!

Well,
today I went to the letterbox and what do I see but a DX package stuffed in there?

Awesome I thought,
I took it out and to my horror there was a green sticker on it,

Opened by Australia Post for inspection by Customs

Holy crap.

Despair slowly sank in...

They took my 200mW Red "Dilda-Lazer" and my True 30mW Green for sure!

I slowly opened the package and what did I see inside?

Check out the photos.

MY TWO LASERS WERE INSIDE!

Why?

I don't bloody know,
the lasers clearly have <30mW and 200mW's marked on them.

It was opened then resealed.

But why hadn't they taken them?

God I don't know,
but I'm happy that I have them!

They probably let me have them,
but as soon as a laser related crime happens in my area I'm gonna get a nice visit.

Now I wait for my big package to come in,

the one with 28 of them inside.

I hope to god that one makes it through too.

Yeah I was gonna leave you all hanging,
but then I thought that'd be too cruel.

That and I noticed that in the top right corner of the first photo you could see a bit of the laser,
and I really couldn't be bothered taking another photo ;D

They know that if they spring you now, they'll never find out where the REAL lasers are ;) Hide them well Dingers.

How did they not see that the package had two lasers in it?

OT but Dingers, fix your signature. It's called the Dilda-Lazor not the Dildo Laser. ;D

Yeah I know,
I was trying to give it a satiric touch but seems to have failed.
 
Keep in mind that because the possession of laser pointers has become illegal in Australia it doesn't mean the government has developed all the laws necessary to prevent their import. Customs may not have a mandate to stop the importation. Rarely is a government so efficient that a law takes into consideration all aspects of an issue. We all know that the law prohibiting the possession of laser pointers was a knee jerk reaction and it became effective over a short period of time. Lawmakers can barely figure out what alcoholic beverage they want to order for lunch let alone build an all encompassing and well devised law.

Agreed,
but this was 30mW's and 200mW's which are illegal to import before the total ban came in.

Didn't get a customs document at all.

Never have for any of my international packages.

Maybe it's just a US thing.
