you have inspired me. i will DEFINITLEY be putting a laser in my pumpkin this year.
 
What about duty cycles? Do you plan on actually keeping the laser ON inside the pumpkin for like a while?
 
remains to be determined. probably just gonna under drive my m140 in a big heatsink.
 
Once I get some time from work me and the wife are carving one each. I will trg to arrange some optics inside to to see what I can come up with.
 
Crystal balls with flat facets mounted to a 3 rpm motor work fine, also 10,000 line diffraction grating works nice also, get as many lines coming out as you can :cool:

These are from last night. Since these pictures were taken I have beveled back the inside edges to get a crisper outline. Couldn't get anything noticeable with a diffraction mirror so this is pure 6 line argon. :)

That's pretty legit!

@Speedy, what do you think the regs are for a pumpkin in a dorm?? May have to carve a pumpkin and fire the 612 at it. That would look pretty cool, me thinks :)
 
I'm waiting for the vids where you guys carve the pumpkin WITH a laser. That would be legit.
