Just read over on Toms Hardware that LaCie has released an external 8x Blu-Ray burner for a whopping $449.00!!! Wonder what kind of diode this uses???

Yeah, thats pretty cool... Im wondering myself what the highest power bluray laser diode thats readilly availible to use is? It's gotta be higher than a 6x burner ;D

Not neccesarily. It could be the same as a 6x diode, but just with better optics on the sled
