Is it just me or...

Is it just me or do other people see dim violet and very dim red dots and blobs when I'm in total or almost total darkness? it's so bad that even if i can start to see shapes in the dark the dim dots and blobs make it so it's very blurred and distorted... Just wondering if im the only one :-?

That would be alright, just afterimage.

for me it's not as bad as you describe, it looks like tiny blind spots everywhere, but blends in pretty well with the black. you can actually see the color red or blue? not just the dark blind spot color?

yea i can clearly see dim red and blueish spots all over my field of vision but only when it's dark.

when is your next eye appointment (optometrist)?

Have you had any direct or incident (reflective) exposure to your eye?

You should mention the problem next time you see them. I would avoid directly attributing it to your laser hobby unless he/she asks what you think may cause it, otherwise they may likely dismiss it as being the cause and tell you to stop playing with high power lasers

It might be in your mind. ;D Because your mind could fabricate those spots to "fill" in where it's dark. Or maybe it's an effect caused from going from light to dark, or do you see the spots even hours after being in total darkness? If you can still see well in the light, I suppose you're ok. I can't say that I have the same issue though, I'll check tonight (if I remember). ;D

well i was up till 5am this morning and i still saw it. i was in almost complete pitch black darkness the whole time. I have above average vision in good light though ;D

I get that too, it's like when you close your eyes you see all different shapes and colours ?
