Hey Guys and gals, so I was just in a debate with my brother on which soldering iron or station is best fit for a hobbyist in lasers or just in general!
I was thinking since I haven't found a thread maybe you guys can chime in and let me no what y'all think. I say the hakko 937D he says Weller wxd2010! which is over 1k$ We also got into it on DMM's I said Mastech and he said something else I forget what it was. Please give me your opinion on this. Thanks in advance guys.
Justin

Sure some are better than others, but I used a $15 iron from RadioShack and it worked fine.

I don't know much about the stations , I personally use a low power 15W iron with a small tip for nearly everything I do electronics based and it works perfectly.

For laser diodes you don't need much heat to solder to the pins .
