No i didn't die:tsk:
Life just happens:D Or i should say girls happened.
Anyway i was looking around and the only thing i really noticed was the MASSIVE amount of Rep points. I don't think it was like that back in the day.
Anything happen in the last 3 years that's like a game changer in the hobby? I still have all my Lasers there just sitting in a pelican case:D

Feels good to be posting in here again!

P.S. I'm finally 21:beer:

Welcome back, this hobby is cheaper than girls, having both though, ouch.

Welcome back to the Forum Rich...

What's new... New Brighter 450nm LDs.
Higher Power Hobbyist LPMs...

Jerry

Hello Rich, nice to meet you for the first time and welcome back :)

Sharp is trying to corner the market in the blue-green spectrum. Cheap 487-495nm and 505nm diodes are a thing now. You missed the 475-480nm test batches of them trying to get to 488nm, they're gone unfortunately... Though some pop up in the BST every now and again.

CNI no longer ships full handhelds to the US anymore, and they raised their prices on modules.

450nm is up to 7W or so in one diode builds

Welcome back!

Welcome back, glad to see you!

As was mentioned above, there are a lot of new diodes, and in much higher powers since you left, also as you noticed, the rep system has been blown up, with the possibility of someone now able to get +25,000 rep with just one rep!

Jeff, I’d rep you but the socialism is rampant

Has anyone figured out what will happen when we reach the highest possible rep? Will we drop back to zero, or just top off at that point?

Good point, I have no idea, although, I see that the "Rep Doomsday Clock" has really started to pick up speed!

Edit: Thanks SGD! It's the thought that counts!

Some of the old timers with low reps will be high, if that happens.

Welcome back, Richard. It is always good to see returning members here. Yeah, my rep used to be 58 about three or four years ago.
