How do I know the actual output of my laser?

Is there an easy way to check my laser pointer's actual output?

A Laser Power Meter is the best way. I'm considering the following, but I'm open to input:

As BobDiaz stated... the only way to know the output
power of any Laser is with a calibrated Laser Power
Meter (LPM).
