How do i change a push button switch to a on/off switch on a laser switch

I have a laser that had a push button momentary switch that was solder at the contacts on the board pictured below. I soldered in a off/on switch to those metal contacts but when connected it just stays on no matter what position the switch is in. Any ideas how i screwed this up and how i can fix it?

Do you have a wire going to the spring? That picture isn't very helpful.

I dont know what host that is but DX sell ON/OFF switches that might work for you.

Take some picutes of the switch also the old momentary switch. If it is staying on you could have a faulty switch as well.

Here is the whole assembly minus off and on switch.
Weather the end wires are connected or not. I touch that sprint and metal retainer rind to the battery , the laser fires. What can i do to make it on off with switch instead of a clicky button.

Are those big huge solder joints touching the host? I think thats your problem.
